PURPOSE OF ROLE
You will be experienced in managing a client portfolio and have become a key contact for those clients, alongside the Partner and Department Director.
You have built a wider appreciation of business issues and of the range of services we are developing, so your clients and Partners/Directors trust your assessment of their situation and needs, and your ideas on how we can help them.
You are sharpening your commercial mind and acumen.
You not only continue to demonstrate the highest technical standards, but also communicate those ideas to clients in a clear, concise and actionable way - with support from a Partner/Director.
You are able, and trusted, to manage the compliance process fully and to budget.
You provide ideas and seek opportunities to contribute to the department/firm growth and management.
You help in the development of junior staff and in improving the training they receive, and you ensure that they live up to the standards expected of them.
Your inter-personal skills and your contribution to business-building, both for clients and for the Firm, are recognised as being as high as your technical abilities and you are therefore showing yourself as a future Business Unit Leader of the business.
-Review and maintenance of Job Control;
-Actual v Budget update;
-Monitor deadlines being met by team;
-Client SLA adherence;
-Reporting and data insight for management reporting
-Excellent client relationships
-Working with outsourcing team in full
-Training and mentoring of staff with technology i.e. QBO, Receipt Bank, OCRex, app stack etc;
-Billing and WIP review
-Experience with drafting proposals
-Statutory year end accounts preparation and working paper file review work;
-Bedding in new jobs and then passing down the work to the team to deal with regularly;
-Liaising with internal or third party external advisors
SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE
-Experience/understanding of working with clients across a broad range of sectors and industries
-Competent with manual and computerised bookkeeping
-Able to produce accounts for sole traders and partnerships
-Clear and confident communication techniques and ability to feedback to all members of staff
-Strong organisational skills
-Ability to manage time to meet deadlines
-Able to travel to all areas of London and occasionally other locations if required
-Good IT skills including confidence with using Sage Line 50 and Excel
-Online software experience across a diverse range of packages is advantageous
Applicants must have recently been responsible for dealing with a substantial client portfolio and will have gained their experience through working in Practice.
