we are looking for a Junior Buyer

the role is perm and based in Hayes Middlesex

The post holder is responsible for the purchase of materials and equipment required by the Company at the optimum quality and price to meet operational and customer requirements.


Area of Responsibility

Commodity Procurement and Stock Control

·Basic knowledge of procurement best practices.

·Ensure materials are purchased at the most competitive prices. (Obtain minimum 3 quotes).

·Rapid response to problems and shortages.

·Assist with Stock Takes.

·5 R’s Right Price, Right Place, Right quality, Right quantity and Right time

Cost Reduction

·To drive cost savings across commodities products and suppliers. Working with design, and production departments to drive change and source alternative products.

Supplier Relationship Management and Contract Negotiation

·Drive down costs and take part in negotiation.

·Manage risks with the supply chain.

·Develop a good relationship with Suppliers and drive performance

·Influence best lead times.

·Resolve delivery quality issues efficiently.

Manage and influence procurement best practices across

·Compliance with internal policies and procedures across

·Check Purchase orders for accuracy and that correct details are included. Timely issue and expedited.

·Regular data analysis reporting and presenting internally on immediate and future priorities, risks, and potential solutions. (MPS meeting)

·Monitor and expedite outstanding purchase orders.

·Work with Accounts payable on purchase ledger invoice. Expedite invoice queries efficiently.

·Maintain product and services quality levels, and meet customer delivery deadlines.

·Maintain good organization of electronic files and folders.
